How to treat: Laundry drains are treated the same way any other small drain is treated except that you must remove the discharge hose from the box in the wall, treat the drain, and then replace the hose after each treatment. The initial treatment should be applied daily for 5 days, one scoop mixed with a pint of warm (not hot) water poured into the drain when it will not be used for 6 to 8 hours so Clean Gene and his friends can dig into the gunky deposits. *(Note - You may need to watch the discharge hose when you drain your washer during the first few days of treatment as deposits could dislodge during the cleaning process and cause the water to back up, if this happens you might try turning the washer on and off quickly to force the clog down or you may have to continue treating the drain until the clog is completely dissolved so it can be flushed down the drain by the wash water.

Remember: Chlorine kills all kinds of bacteria ! Even Clean Gene ! If you want to keep your system trouble free never use large quantities of Chlorine Bleach, if you want to disinfect the water in a particular load use a few tablespoons of bleach in just that load. Especially if you are on a septic system, large doses of Chlorine kill off the good bacteria along with the bad, we need good bacteria to break down organic things like grease, food particles, hair, sugars, paper, cotton, sewage, etc. into an odorless liquid.
